Ole Siosiomaga Society Incorporated (OLSSI)

The goal of OLSSI is to promote the balance and harmony, which should characterize the Samoan’s relationship with other components of their environment. The objectives of the Society are :
a) To monitor the state of the environment in Samoa, with particular emphasis on the impact of human activities on land (including lava fields, fresh water, mangroves, lagoons, reef, ocean and air, and to promote only those policies and practices which have positive impacts;
b) To disseminate information and create public awareness amongst its members and communities regarding environmental matters.
c) To demonstrate sound ideas and practices for the purpose of promoting conservation

Purpose of Organization:

To have OLSSI as one of the most dependable, value-added and efficient NGO in Samoa being responsive to the broader contemporary issues in all the four pillars of sustainable development (economic, social, environmental, and cultural), as well as the sustainable management and use of natural resources delivered to benefit peoples and communities of Samoa, the Pacific region and the world utilizing broad advocacy and awareness raising approaches whilst respecting the principles of good governance.
To deliver the people centered vision of the OLSSI by ensuring that development partners are secured, relevant projects are leveraged, adequate capacities are developed, resources are mobilized, networks of stakeholder are encouraged to take an interest in the work of OLSSI, and to take advantage of the strengths of other cross cutting modalities and areas by using them in order for this mission to be successfully achieved.
