ENVIRONMENTAL WOMEN IN ACTION FOR DEVELOPMENT (EWAD)(formely known as Entebbe Women Association, EWA)

EEnvironmental Women in Action for Development (EWAD), formerly, Entebbe Women Association, is a non-profit making Organisation that was established in 1995 with a mission to empower poor women, children and youth overcome poverty and vulnerability to ill health through education, life skills development and enhanced access to other resources for social and economic development. EWAD has since inception spearheaded projects and activities that address environmental issues on Climate change, gender mainstreaming, poverty and inequalities in Uganda.

The primary goal of EWAD is to stimulate environmental awareness and behavioural change among local communities through their participation in relevant conservation activities aimed at securing ecological integrity and improving their economic livelihoods to achieve sustainable development.
