Experience:

Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo is a Development and Environment NGO that was established in Spain in 1987. For over 25 years, we have engaged in development work, provided social assistance and contributed to environmental sustainability in Spain and beyond.

In agricultural development projects, our primary goal is the improvement of productivity and the reduction of food insecurity. This is achieved through the introduction of climate-smart agricultural techniques that contribute to adaptation, mitigation and the improvement of farmers´ livelihoods. Our agricultural programs contribute directly to reducing deforestation, protecting biodiversity and reducing land degradation.

Our educational programs include instruction on environmental issues and the sustainable use of resources which are promoted in Teacher Training colleges, Vocational Schools and Primary schools that we operate together with our partners.

In our community development programs we work with communities to identify environmental problems and to implement solutions. Through mobilization, information sharing and awareness raising, efforts to improve and protect the local environment are undertaken and achieved by the community.

In the global north we collect, sort, sell and recycle used clothes. This has direct environmental benefits and helps to create a culture of environmental awareness and resource efficiency. We also engage in the promotion of sustainable agriculture practices as a way to build greater social coherence and understanding of the implications of modern food production.

The activities and programs that are implemented by the foundation are funded by our recycling activities as well as as grants and collaborations with other institutions.
