Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT)

The Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT) is a Non-Governmental Organisation that was established in October, 1998 by a partnership of Local and International Conservation Organizations. CSWCT established Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in 1998 for the care and welfare of entrusted animals while conserving as far as possible the ecosystem on Lake Victoria in Uganda. In 2007, CSWCT expanded its work to help communities living alongside wild chimpanzees as neighbours to benefit from their proximity and value their existence. CSWCT now has field conservation program in the Albertine Riftlandscape that comprises districts of Hoima, Masindi, Kibaale and Buliisa in western Uganda.
