The IUCN Washington, D.C. Office provides vital linkages for the Union and its Member organizations, Commission Members, Councillors, partners and donors to key US-based institutions such as Government agencies, environmental NGOs, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and a variety of foundations. In addition, the office provides administrative support to the IUCN Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations in New York City.

Purpose of Organization:
IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature, helps the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges. It supports scientific research, manages field projects all over the world and brings governments, non-government organizations, United Nations agencies, companies and local communities together to develop and implement policy, laws and best practice.
